Our Focus Areas

Green Africa Network is dedicated to building climate resilience, promoting sustainable livelihoods, and protecting biodiversity, while strengthening communities and reducing vulnerability

Climate Change & Environment

Africa is on the frontline of climate change. Communities across the continent face escalating threats like droughts, floods, and shifting weather patterns. Green Africa Network equips these communities to adapt and thrive in the face of change.

What We Do:

  • Raise education and awareness about climate change impacts, mitigation and adaptation.
  • Develop localized climate action plans.
  • Advocate for climate adaptation funding and technology.

Together, we can ensure no one is left behind in the fight against climate change.

Policy & Advocacy

Systemic change begins with the right policies. Green Africa Network harnesses the power of evidence-based research and grassroots campaigns to influence decisions that matter.

What We Do:

  • Research and publish reports to guide policymakers.
  • Mobilize communities to demand accountability and action.
  • Collaborate with governments to promote sustainable legislation.

Change is within reach when we push together for justice and equity.

Disaster Risk Reduction

We work to reduce the impacts of disasters induced by climate change. We achieve this through building the capacity of communities and stakeholders in preparedness, response, mitigation, and recovery mechanisms.

What We Do:

  • Empowering communities to manage their own disaster risks through participatory approaches.
  • Building partnerships and collaborations with local organizations and stakeholders.
  • Providing training and capacity building for local leaders on DRR.

Promote advocacy for a just transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy.

Agriculture Biodiversity

Diversified food systems can better withstand climate change, pests, and diseases, reducing the risk of crop failures and livestock losses.

What We Do:

  • Promoting the cultivation of diverse crop species to enhance biodiversity.
  • Supporting organic farming practices that reduce the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers.
  • Providing training and education on agroecology and sustainable agriculture practices.

Supporting food security interventions, engaging technology to challenge poverty.
